Uncontested as the premier
vessel of Lake Erie, Lyman boats were manufactured in Sandusky
in the 1930’s,
when Lyman Boat Works relocated their facility to Sandusky
from Cleveland. Lyman Harbor was then home to the Lyman Boat
Works founded by the Lyman brothers, Bernard and Herman Lyman.
In as much as was possible, many of the present day structures
at the entertainment complex were built around the original
architecture in order to maintain the atmosphere and historical
significance of the Lyman name.
The Lyman vessel has long been known as a heritage and work
of art for quality craftsmanship. Designed specifically for
Lake Erie and its infamous rugged chop, Bernard Lyman designed
and built the most famous clinker built boat of all time.
Impassioned Lyman boat owners regard this location as coming
home.
Today Lyman Harbor provides recreation and
an enriching cultural opportunity for boaters and non-boaters
alike. Waterfront dining, concerts, shopping, and a superb
marina facility are backdropped by a stunning view of Cedar
Point and the Sandusky Bay.
Much thought and pride has gone into the development of
Lyman Harbor. We invite you to join us and envelop a bit
of history while you relax and are entertained in the engaging
Lyman spirit. |
